Coutts & Co currently operates four websites, www.coutts.com, www.couttsworld.com , www.440strand.com and www.couttswoman.com.  These are respectively our public, Coutts World Card, secure Coutts Online Banking and the Coutts Woman’s magazine websites.

We are committed to protecting your privacy during your visits to our websites, and we recognise our responsibility to keep the information you provide to us confidential at all times.

In addition, for security purposes, our Coutts Online Banking website at www.440strand.com uses temporary, session-based cookies to ensure that users are automatically logged out of the service if there has been no activity for five minutes.

4. Disabling Cookies

Temporary, session-based cookies are used to log users out of the Coutts Online Banking service if there has been no activity for five minutes.  This is an inherent part of the security arrangements on this website and is strictly necessary to the operation of the Coutts Online Banking service.  You will not be able to use the service unless your browser is configured to permit the use of cookies.  When you exit the Coutts Online Banking service, the temporary cookies will automatically be deleted from your computer.  However, the cookies used to collect general, non-personal management information (see section 3) will not be deleted automatically.   Therefore, you should not use the Coutts Online Banking service if you do not want those cookies to be stored on your computer.
