Senior Credit Officer
What does your job involve?
One of the key elements of my role is the excess management of accounts. This involves looking at the accounts that are out of order and taking action as appropriate. This may involve for example phoning clients directly, or reporting issues to credit risk.
I am also involved in preparing advice on borrowing terms to clients which are directly authorised by the Private Bankers.
Speaking to clients on a daily basis means that they get to know individual names and telephone numbers which ensures that I build effective relationships with the clients. This also often results in ad hoc queries from clients who have questions, or wish to report activities on their accounts.
What is it like working for Coutts?
Having worked for Coutts for the last 5 years, I have always found the team to be approachable and supportive which helps create a good work environment. There are about 10 of us in the team and with a range of different experience - some being relatively new, others with extensive experience in Coutts, and 1 having previous experience elsewhere in RBS.
The reputation of Coutts is a big selling point and makes it easier to provide excellent customer service. The ethos here means that the client is put above everything else, which allows me to provide a personal service and ensure that I provide the best offering to the client.
My team is broken down into three client groups; Sports and Entertainment, Entrepreneurs and Regional offices. The primary focus of my work is in the Sports and Entertainment client group. I really enjoy working with this group of clients because I am often dealing with high profile individuals who I have seen in the media and can put names to faces.
