Direct Marketing Manager

I joined Coutts three months ago and work as a direct marketing manager within a Direct Marketing and Sales Support Team. My role is varied and involves creating and reviewing any communications that go out to clients in the form of a letter which can include promotions, communication about events, information brochures & leaflets and handling any responses we receive.
In my role, I do need to be aware of what’s going on in the business, such as product developments, what events are planned, service developments and any other area which requires communication to the client so I liase regularly with the Investment Marketing and Product Marketing teams and also with the front office.
What is a typical day like in your office?
Every day can be different, most recently I have been working with our design house on client invitations for an event, ensuring design is correct, handling any client responses that come in.
I liase regularly with other areas of the bank, attending meetings and keeping abreast of developments in the business also liase with Private Bankers, helping to create letters for their clients or reviewing communications with the Private Bankers. I distribute an e-mail newsletter to clients, writing articles and obtaining information across the business. The flow of communications to clients needs to be monitored to ensure they are not hit with too many communications all at once.
What do you like most about working for Coutts?
The team here is fantastic, very supportive and I enjoy working with them. The role is varied and I get the opportunity to be creative and I also enjoy the challenge of working with areas where there is more regulation, such as Investments.
I get to work with different areas of the business, meeting different people and I get great job satisfaction when I get positive feedback about communications or support I have provided. Line management provides great support and the communication within the team is very open so I am comfortable with discussing my own viewpoints and am encouraged to use my creativity.
